REVIEW OF THE BOOK, VOICE OF KNOWLEDGE BY DON MIGUEL RUIZ
I used to be a big proponent of the notion that we were not perfect. I believed perfection was boring. While I was not entirely wrong in my thinking, this book expanded my thinking in a profound way. It helped me realize that the basis for my thinking about perfection was flawed.
What if we are perfect, but it is our belief about what perfection is that is a lie
If we are an extension of this perfect universe, or if we were created by a perfect higher power then doesn’t it stand to reason that we are perfect as well?
Because something perfect cannot create something imperfect unless it does so intentionally. What if it is our idea of what perfection that is flawed. And we have socialized one another to believe it is unattainable?
I think to be perfect is to be genuinely who you are at your core. It is to be who you were created to be. The original sin was to believe in the lies that make us forget the truth about who we are. To be perfect is to refuse to focus on who you are not, or who society tells you not to be. Instead, it is to be who you already are.
Because who are we must be perfect if we are a manifestation of a divine higher power.
