THE SEAT OF THE SOUL BY GARY ZUKAV

THE SEAT OF THE SOUL BY GARY ZUKAV

I should caution you that this book is not for everyone. However, it can offer a deeply rich spiritual understanding for those who are open to alternative ways of understanding the spiritual power behind the world we inhabit that is outside the traditional Judeo-Christian ways of understanding.

This book describes the nature of the soul. The soul—the spirit within us—which is really who we are is an extension of the spiritual power that is commonly understood to be God. The primary goal of the soul is to heal itself. It is to rid itself of the many negative emotions like anger, envy, resentment, dissatisfaction, hatred, etc, that most of us are often afflicted with. The soul’s aim is to balance out its energy so that it becomes God-like. That is so that it has more of the loving and peaceful characteristics that are Godly.

The soul undergoes many reincarnations, meaning the soul lives many lifetimes. The soul itself never dies. It is the body or the personality that the soul exists in, in a given life that dies. And each time the soul reincarnates into a new body or personality, it works to heal the negative emotions afflicted with the soul through its experiences in the current lifetime. This way, it goes without saying that the experiences that the soul has in a given lifetime are an opportunity for the soul to heal itself.

Perhaps the most important takeaway for me from the book is the notion that for every action, there is an effect. And for every thought or action we put out there we also take part in the effect of it. This book goes further to say that even if a soul does not experience the effects of the action of its personality in one lifetime, it will experience the effect in another lifetime.

Therefore we need to be cautious about the intention behind the actions we take. If by our action we are intending to create chaos, hatred, bitterness, anger, and animosity, we will inevitably experience the effect of it. On the other hand, if by our actions, or thoughts we intend to bring more love, kindness, acceptance, and peace, we will also experience the effects of those intentions.
