Maintain the right perception.

Your perception is everything so make sure that you have the right one.

There was a period in my life when I felt like the entire world was against me. I could not find a single thing in my life that was working out good. My career was not happening. My love life was dead, and I was financially handicapped. I genuinely felt and believed nothing I was ever going to do was ever going to work out. Although I was doing everything right on the outside, although I was working the hardest I had ever worked in my life, and although I was doing nothing particularly wrong, I felt I was bad. I felt as though I was something undesirable and unacceptable. I felt so unloved by God. And I felt victimized by my circumstances and the people around me. I would sit down in meditation or get on my yoga mat and feel I could no longer live with my thoughts.
Then one day, while on my yoga mat, I had a truthful realization. I realized it was time for me to change my perception. Because everything cannot be bad. If I work hard and stay true to myself, things will eventually work out. I am not bad because I am not doing anything wrong. And even If I was, God’s love for me would never change.

That day I realized that whenever you feel the whole world is against you or nothing is ever going to work out, you need to realize that it is time to change perception because that is not how the universe operates. That is not how God works. Tough times come, but they come to redirect you to your path or they come to input and strengthen virtues within you that are necessary for you to be all that you were created to be. The face of the universe, of God, is abundance, creativity, love, kindness, receptive, expansive, and beautiful. Whenever you feel none of these reflected in your life, then it is time to change your perception. It is time to change your thinking about your life.

HERE IS HOW YOUR PERCEPTION CAN IMPACT YOUR LIFE

Perception is everything because the type of perception you hold determines the action you take. Having the wrong perception is like having a map to the wrong city—having a map to LA while in NY city. You can work the hardest, persist through the discomforts, patiently turn from street to street with the most positive attitude, but you will never reach your destination. Because every turn will be the wrong turn. The guide that is determining your action is the wrong guide.

Sometimes the toughest work you will have to do is to actually hold on to the right perception even when the circumstances and the people that surround you say otherwise. The toughest work is to actually be brave enough to look at the bigger picture and to listen to the little promises that God has placed in your heart, and allow them to guide your actions. It can be very easy to give in to the wrong perception after all that is what your “reality” dictates. However, you will never be able to reach your destination and you will live life feeling as though you are chasing your tail—you will get nowhere.

So I am telling you today, ignore what those people over there have to say and listen to your VISION. Ignore what the circumstances have to say and listen to your WHY. Dare to say I CAN, I WILL, END of STORY, and truly believe it! And then go out there and be the BADDEST at what you do. Wherever you may find yourself, take the first step, crawl if you have to, but by all means do not allow your soul to be defeated by the wrong perception! Your bravery will be rewarded!E
